This book began as a set of bedside notes I made while trying to understand James Allen’s original text for myself. Although I’d read As a Man Thinketh many times, some of the older phrasing made certain ideas harder to absorb, so I began rewriting some passages in language that felt more natural to me. Those notes eventually expanded to cover the entire book.

My aim has been to preserve Allen’s intent as faithfully as possible. The wording has been updated for clarity, but the ideas and worldview remain entirely his. Presented side-by-side with the 1903 text, this edition allows readers to explore each version independently or use both together for comparison and reference.

However you choose to use it, I hope this edition helps you engage with Allen’s teachings in a way that feels clear and meaningful to you.
